2020 South American Windsurfing Championships

The South American Windsurf Championships 2020 for Raceboard, Techno293 and Techno293 Plus categories were held from February 21 to 25, 2020. This event was also the first selective to form the Argentine team that will travel to the Fortaleza World Cup, Brazil, for the Techno293 Plus category.
The Championship was attended by 73 competitors from 5 countries: Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Chile and Peru.
Wind conditions varied beginning with weak southernly winds on the first day and all competitors completing two races on that day. On Saturday 22nd the wind rotated to the northeast / east and was of varying intensity allowing three more races to be completed.
Sunday 23rd started with winds from the north, which allowed two races to be held in the morning and in the afternoon the wind rotated to the northeast and increased its speed to 18 knots which allowed two more races to be held. Due to the direction and intensity of the wind, the Race Committee anchored the course near the coast of the 400 Yacht Club Cordoba, generating a natural stage from where people could enjoy the races from the coast as never before. On Monday 24, first race started at 10 am taking advantage of the north wind of 25 knots, which allowed the realization of three very hard races during the morning and in the afternoon a fourth race was held when the wind was established from the east. In this way 13 races were completed in total, since there was not enough wind to race on the final day.

From the Cordoba Windsurf Association we would like to thank the International Windsurfing Association, the Argentine Windsurfing Association, the 400 Yacht Club Córdoba for providing us with the facilities for the event, to the Secretary of Tourism of the Municipality of Villa Carlos Paz and to all the sponsors that made it possible to place the city on the scene World Windsurfing International.
